Overview: Sharing content from the webinar studio

To find what option on sharing is easiest or best for you - check out our overview on screen sharing in the webinar studio. The 3 options to share is either:

  1. Share PDF - easily upload PDF to present in your webinar

  2. Share screen - share your screen, a window (Powerpoint), or a tab

  3. Share video - upload video to share during your webinar

This article will go into a bit more depth into specifically sharing your screen in Univid:s webinar studio.

Screen sharing on Mac – share a PowerPoint or window

If you're using a MacBook, here are some points on how to share your PowerPoint window in Univid. Follow these 3 steps:

1. Allow screen sharing permissions for your browser ✅

MacOS has strict access on how to allow your browser to access your desktop.

Make sure Chrome has permission to capture your screen:

  • Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen & System Audio Recording

  • Ensure Google Chrome is checked

  • If you just changed this setting: restart Chrome

2. Make sure PowerPoint is visible and in the same Desktop ✅

Mac can treat full-screen apps as different desktops, which prevents them from being shared:

  • PowerPoint must be in the same Desktop/Space as the browser window (Chrome)

  • Do not minimize the PowerPoint window

  • Keep the PowerPoint window visible and active

3. Use Windowed Mode for PowerPoint slideshows ✅

By default, PowerPoint runs slideshows in full-screen. If you are using a 2 screen setup this is fine.

But, if you using only 1 screen you might want to follow the following steps - to make sure you have the windows side-by-side to see both (A) the webinar platform, and (B) your slides at the same time.

1. Open PowerPoint

2. Go to Slide Show > Set Up Slide Show

3. Choose “Browsed by an individual (window)” instead of full screen

4. Start your presentation – it will now open in a normal window that you can share alongside the Univid interface
